This is one of the most effective ways to lose weight while still keeping your body flexible. If you want to know what power yoga poses for beginners are, here’s an overview. These are poses that are more advanced than your regular yoga sessions and hence require a little bit of training. As you do these positions, you will gradually move towards a position where you are using more of your muscles.

The positions might at first seem a bit uncomfortable to do. But as you keep practicing them, you will feel more confident as you go on with them. It is the simplest exercise that you can perform to achieve this.

First, sit straight in a chair with your back straight. Then, cross your legs and touch your toes. Next, lift your buttocks up and down five times. Another very important pose that you have to learn when it comes to power yoga poses for beginners for weight loss is called the extended side angle pose.

Beginners usually feel that they cannot perform this pose properly as it requires them to lean forward a bit. If you are one of those who find leaning forward difficult, then you may want to practice sitting on a chair instead. You have to keep your back straight and you have to tilt your pelvis towards the direction of your ankles. As you lean forward, contract your quadriceps at the hip area and gradually lean to the opposite side. Hold your breath at the end of each position for a few seconds and you will feel comfortable enough to proceed to the next.

One of the power yoga poses for beginners for weight loss that is also good for toning is the boat pose. This requires you to stand on a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Then, turn your torso as far as possible to the left and right, keeping your elbows stable on the floor.
